Kinder Creators
(K – Grade 1)

In Kinder Creators, we use engaging experiments to encourage exploration and spark interest in important scientific topics. Topics are age-appropriate, following the Grade 1 Ontario Science Curriculum, so campers are guaranteed to learn while having fun! We focus on connecting science to the real world by learning about living things, energy, seasons and planets, the environment, materials, and structures. We strive to teach the WHY behind the WHAT. With hands on activities, these young, creative minds will thrive!

Each week, this camp will produce a minimum of one Science experiment video, one lesson plan to follow along with parents/guardians, and one live Q&A session with our instructors. More videos from collaborators will also be posted throughout the week!

Junior Thinkers
Grades 2 – 3

In Junior Thinkers, we expand our thinking to connect Science to real world applications. Topics are age-appropriate, following the Grades 2 and 3 Ontario Science Curriculum, so campers are guaranteed to learn while having fun! Through various activities, we investigate the characteristics of animals and plants, types of movement and simple machines, properties of liquids and solids, the water cycle, strong and stable structures, balance (centre of mass vs. centre of gravity), and forces. We discuss how humans interact with and influence these different systems.

Each week, this camp will have a minimum of one Science experiment video, one lesson plan to follow along with parents/guardians, and one live Q&A session with our instructors. More videos from collaborators will also be posted throughout the week!

Science & Engineering Camp
(Grades 4 – 8)

In our Science & Engineering Camp, we use the engineering design cycle and hypothesis testing to develop a deep understanding of scientific topics. Topics are age-appropriate, following the Grades 4 – 8 Ontario Science Curriculum, so campers are guaranteed to learn while having fun! As part of this camp, we will cover the main branches of Science: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Your camper will learn about anything from habitats and biodiversity, to human organ systems and cells, to electricity and flight. Additionally, we will be covering different types of technology (computers, video games, music production, or graphic design), including robotics and coding (Scratch, Python, HTML, Java, C, C++)!

Each week, this camp will produce a minimum of one Science experiment video, one lesson plan to follow along with parents/guardians, and one live Q&A session with our instructors. More videos from collaborators will also be posted throughout the week!

Girls Quest Camp
(Grades 4 – 8)

Girls Quest Camp is everything that is awesome about our Science & Engineering Camp, but only for female-identifying campers! Campers will participate in a fun, high-impact science adventure designed to promote women in Science and Engineering. Girls Quest is instructed by a team of individuals who identify as female and are undergraduate students at Queen’s University.

Each week, this camp will produce a minimum of one Science experiment video, one lesson plan to follow along with parents/guardians, and one live Q&A session with our instructors. More videos from collaborators will also be posted throughout the week!

Premium Content
(All Grades)

If you love our free content and/or have a camper with a special area of interest in STEM, you may also be interested in our PREMIUM custom content. By signing up for a PREMIUM camp, we will contact you directly to discuss what your camper wants to learn. This could be anything from educational Minecraft lessons to the Science behind trains. Then, our instructors will create one personalized STEM activity — just for your camper(s)! The activity will then be presented in a 45-minute live video session with two of our instructors! We only ask that a donation be made to Science Quest for this service. All activities we develop will then be donated to Boys and Girls Club of Kingston in September!
